Meet Julia

Hi! I’m Julia, founder of Sales Inside Edge

Growing up skiing at the foot of the Snowy Mountains in Victoria, I was bitten by the adventure bug early on in life.
While I’m settled now in sunny Queensland, and swapped out my skis for a surfboard, my love of the outdoors and my taste for action hasn’t gone anywhere.
After completing my Sport Science and Business Marketing degree I vowed never to work in “sales”. I had an image in my mind of the classic, cheesy ‘sales rep’, pushing used cars or timeshare homes in a cheap suit.
But, as luck would have it, at 22 I fell into a sales role working for a friend. He offered me international and interstate travel, beautiful hotels, flexible work hours and the joy of making other people happy by giving them something they wanted and needed.
This was the shift I needed to fall head over heels in love with sales.
20 years on, with 1000’s of hours of sales and countless courses, mentors and lessons under my belt, I know that so many business owners could benefit from building the same relationship with selling that I am blessed to have.
Through all this, I also completed my qualification in Brain Based Coaching from the world renowned NeuroLeadership Institute, allowing me to incorporate mindset strategies and coaching with sales skills, which I now know is the key to becoming a truly empowered seller.
I started Sales Inside Edge to roll 20 years of education and experience into simple content and tangible actions to help my clients create a life and business that I know is possible for everybody, no matter where they’re starting from.

My Why

The truth is…I haven't always loved sales.

In fact, I avoided it, and when I fell into my first sales job at 22, I was a quivering mess of fear and imposter syndrome, frozen by the thought of picking up the phone, following up customers…
Or, worst of all…rejection.
Then I met Rocky. Rocky had a business importing and selling furniture to some of the largest retail chains in Australia.
He taught me that sales is not just about having 'something' to sell, it's about building a relationship with your customers.
And while so many sales ‘gurus’ and Hollywood movies give us the idea that great sales is about pressure, tactics and manipulation…
Rocky showed me the truth…

It's all about trust.

Over the years, through all my courses, mentors and mistakes, I’ve learnt everything from how to craft highly influential sales scripts and marketing messages, to analysing in-depth sales data and analysis reports…
BUT there are a few things that I was never taught.
  1. How to overcome fear and control my emotions.
  2. How to overcome rejection and keep moving forwards.
  3. How to own myself in any room, no matter how many high-flyers are there.
  4. How to create a growth mindset that  means I never give up, no matter how bad it seems.
  5. How to inspire myself and hit my own goals, even whilst working for a big company.

These are the true essence of great sales, and the real reason why I’m running this business today.

In over 2 decades on the front line of sales, the best lessons I’ve learnt haven’t come from books and courses, and I know it’s these same lessons that have been the true drivers of success, blessing me with the beautiful life I have today.
